What Is BIMI and Can I Use It with Postmark?

🏷️ What Is BIMI and Can I Use It with Postmark?

BIMI stands for Brand Indicators for Message Identification. It’s an email specification that allows you to display your brand's logo next to your messages in supported inboxes (like Gmail and Yahoo), helping recipients quickly recognize your emails as legitimate.

✅ What’s Required for BIMI?

To implement BIMI, you’ll typically need:

  • A properly configured sending domain with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC (Postmark supports all of these).
  • A verified SVG logo published at a specific location on your domain.
  • In some cases (like Gmail), a VMC (Verified Mark Certificate) from a certificate authority.

📬 Does Postmark Support BIMI?

Postmark supports the key email authentication standards that BIMI relies on: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. However, displaying your logo is ultimately up to the receiving mail client (like Gmail or Yahoo)—Postmark doesn’t control that part.

📎 How to Try Setting Up BIMI

Here’s our guide that walks through what BIMI is and one way to get started:

And here’s a helpful workaround for getting your logo to appear in Gmail (which doesn’t fully rely on BIMI):

While there’s no guaranteed way to force logo display—it’s always at the discretion of the inbox provider—these steps give you the best shot at having your logo show up.
